Donate a Car Canada accepts Vehicle Donations for the Risky Genes Society. Free towing is provided in most areas across Canada, or you can drop off your vehicle to maximize your donation. When you donate your car, truck, RV, boat, or motorcycle to the Risky Genes Society through Donate A Car Canada, it will either be recycled or sold at auction (depending on its condition, age and location). Donate a Car Canada will look after all the details to make it easy for the Risky Genes Society to benefit. After your vehicle donation is complete, you will receive a tax receipt and we will put your gift to good use. Please click here to donate a vehicle.
The easiest way to support this cause and save lives is to spread the word. This can be done in so many ways from simply picking up the phone to printing and delivering posters and other printed materials from this site to your medical professionals and local clinics. This website and any links from it can be shared through email and social media with family, friends and contacts.
We receive no funding from the large cancer organizations, nor have they or governments produced their own widespread public awareness programs to increase identification or risky gene carriers for the purpose of preventing cancer in the countless people in which that is possible. Funding for charities is at an all-time low, making it difficult to fund our own programs. Third-party fundraising events are those that you can hold on your own and for the purpose of donating the profits. This can range from something as simple as requesting donations rather than birthday presents to a large fundraiser you and your friends pull together, such as a silent auction or hall party.
Nothing can make your own journey seem less daunting than helping others in a similar situation. There are so many ways to get involved. We need administrators for local-level social media groups, people willing to provide in-person peer support or put forth your name to help out with in-house events, sit on a committee or offer your skills and experience by applying to sit on our board or in a professional capacity on our Professional Advisory Committee.
Print our fabric transfer on a t-shirt or other item to wear around town or at events. This can be very effective when in the presence of others who know they are or suspect may be affected, such as at medical appointments or events and runs or other events to do with the large cancer organizations.

We will be dissolving The Risky Genes Society over the next few months and dispersing all remaining assets as required according to the Alberta Societies Act and Canada Income Tax Act. We wish all those affected by hereditary cancer a future of growing knowledge and awareness of how hereditary cancer can be prevented, detected and treated. All the best in health to those affected with hereditary cancer.
